Prof. Dato’ Dr Andrew Mohanraj Chandrasekaran is a Consultant Psychiatrist and had served the  Ministry of Health Malaysia for 12 years before taking up an international assignments  with  development agencies  in Aceh Indonesia, The Philippines and Timor Leste.

He is also actively involved in the mainstreaming of mental health issues in Malaysia as the  President of the Malaysian Mental Health Association. He is engaged in periodic consultancy to  provide mental health services to refugees and asylum seekers whose intended destination is  Australia. Dr Andrew is an Academic  Professor at Taylor’s University where he is also the Director  of the Impact Lab on Mental Health and Wellbeing.

Dr Andrew is also a member of the Mental Health Promotion Advisory Council to the Minister of  Health Malaysia and is the Board of Directors of the National Coalition for Mental Wellbeing  Malaysia. Dr Andrew Mohanraj had served as a  consultant on Mental Health and Substance Abuse  with the World Health Organization ( WHO) Western Pacific Regional Office.

Professor Emeritus Dato’ Dr Syed specialised in Public Health Medicine and the first Malaysian to obtain PhD in Health Economics from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in 1995. Currently, he is appointed as a Professor of Community Medicine, International Medical University, Kuala Lumpur. In November 2022, he was awarded Emeritus Professor in Public Health by the Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. His main interest is in the strengthening of the health care system of developing countries through research and development in health policy, health economics and financing.

Prof. Dr Suresh Bada Math MD, DNB, PGDMLE, PGDHRL, PhD in Law (NLSIU), is a highly experienced Professor of Psychiatry at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bangalore, India. He leads several key units, including the Forensic Psychiatry Unit, Legal Aid Clinic, Telemedicine Centre, and Unit-V (Adult Psychiatry). His expertise also extends to Community Psychiatry, where he serves as a consultant.

Dr Suresh has a prolific academic background, with degrees from prestigious institutions such as the Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences and the National Law School of India. His research interests span Forensic Psychiatry, Community Psychiatry, Telemedicine, the Human Rights of persons with mental illness, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. He has published extensively, with over 5351 citations.

Dr Suresh is also active in educational outreach, making more than 256 educational videos for medical and psychiatry students. In addition to his academic and clinical roles, Dr. Math has served on numerous expert committees and professional bodies, contributing significantly to mental health policy and practice in India.

He has received several awards, including the Sir CV Raman Young Scientist Award and the Prof Raghuram Distinguished Young Teacher Award. Dr Suresh has been involved in numerous funded research projects and has authored several textbooks and chapters. His telemedicine and community psychiatry work has been particularly impactful, earning him recognition nationally and internationally.

Dr Kumar was conferred the Fellowship of the Indian Academy of Medical Specialities in Family Medicine (FIAMS). He is also a Life Member of the MMA since 1980. Dato’ Dr.R.S. Kumar served in the various committees of the Malaysian Medical Association as well as the Secretary the Board of Trustees of the MMA Foundation for nearly 6 years.

His vast experience in Primary Care of more than 40 years as well as the exposure to the industry has enabled him and to be involved in the medical and business direction of the Qualitas Medical Group in many countries. He has always had a strong desire to ‘empower the Primary Care Doctors‘ with new opportunities and special interests to enhance their service levels to the community. Dr Kumar was involved in the various teaching and training programs for Doctors and Nurses during his tenure.

National Specialist Registry (NSR) of Malaysia Certified Psychiatrist since 2011.He has rich experience working with individuals with severe problems such as suicidality and major mental illnesses. Has been working in child and adolescent field of psychiatry since 2011 and completed training in Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Under Ministry of Health in April 2022 and has special interest in psychosocial trauma and disaster. Has been appointed as Head of Department for Psychiatry and Mental Health Department at Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah, Alor Setar, Kedah since November 2022. Dr Mohd Affendi is an adept communicator and able to engage with clients and colleagues effectively in complex health organisation.

He is a Jefferson and Yale trained Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist currently with a focus on tele-mental health care. He is theco-founder of TeleHope Health, a telemental health platform focused on providing online evidence-based telemental health care for Malaysians. Previously, Dr Aw had the opportunity to work with Teladoc Health since 2020 until 2022, providing mental health care through telepsychiatry. He is also currently providing refugee mental health care with Healis Health/Physicians United. Passionate in mental health education, he had the opportunity to teach at International Medical University's Clinical Skills and Simulation Centre, and now starting as a Sessional Lecturer (Psychiatry) at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland & University College Dublin (Malaysia Campus).

Dr. Sharmilla is a consultant psychiatrist and an associate professor at Universiti Malaya. She has attended expert consultancies at both national and international levels. She has been on the advisory board meetings with pharmaceutical companies, and international clinical trial consultancies. Dr Sharmilla has assisted local counselling centres to help co-manage the more severe patients. She is also the undergraduate MBBS coordinator for University Malaya. In addition, she has published in peer-reviewed journals as well as she has some experience in using extended reality and artificial intelligence tools to help patients.

Dr. Joseph is a senior lecturer at Taylor's University School of Medicine. He has extensive experience with non-profit organizations working as a consultant for the Health Equities Initiative - an NGO that provides services for refugees in Malaysia. He has worked with MSF (Doctors Without Borders) Holland, conducted assessments of psychiatric services in Iraq, and was a mental health coordinator at the International Medical Corps in Jordan. Dr Joseph received his Master of Psychological Medicine (MPM) from University of Malaysia along with his Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, India.

Being the First Malaysian to obtain Certification from American Institute of Health Care Professionals as a Stress Management Consultant, Dr Pani has vast expertise in aviation, marine and occupational psychiatry. He currently serves a Psychiatrist at Hospital Sultan Abdul Halim, Malaysia.

Dr Pani is the Co-founder & Trainer, Mind Asia Consultancy PLT established in Feb 2020, a consultancy company based in Kuala Lumpur, providing training and awareness on stress management and mental health wellbeing mainly to corporate bodies, NGOs, educational institution and the general public.
